Join Cirque Us for our knot-tying, high-flying tour!
Biddeford, ME – July 12th, 13th & 14th: Cirque Us is back in town! This time, with a mismatched
circus. Join our RagTag group of thread-barren, yarn-spinning characters around the fire as they
explore a new patchwork world. You’ll be entwined with our group of mismatched artists as they
stitch together a tapestry of talents: from high-flying, knot-tying, gravity defying aerialists, to
loopy jugglers, to musicians that pull your heart strings, and comedy that leaves you in stitches.
Join us as we gather stories that never got to be told. Can we find a common thread? Come
witness how six separate threads are inevitably intertwined.
The show features professional circus artist including; Nina Gershy, who has performed with
ABCirque and New York Fashion Week, Joy Powers, a former clown with Ringling Brothers &
Barnum and Bailey’s Circus, Rena Dimes, a professional aerialist and contortionist and highwire
walker, Sorrell Nielsen. Our RagTag team is directed by, Jesse Dryden, an instructor at the
National Circus School of Montreal and former creative director of Circus Smirkus for ten years.
Cirque Us was founded in 2016 and strives to create pieces that share pillars of friendship, play
and exploration with local communities. Based in Massachusetts, the Cirque Us team is
composed of artists from all over the country. The team of designers, performers, and other
collaborators seek to provide a perspective from their generation that can resonate with all ages.
It is their mission to bring high-level, affordable circus performances to difference communities
and share the values of teamwork, the importance of play, and a reminder to not take ourselves
too seriously.
Cirque Us is a circus collective on their fourth tour gaining national attention. Their never
before seen show, RagTag: a Circus in Stitches, will be performing 3 shows at the Sellam Circus
School on July 12th, 13th, & 14th. Shows are at 7:00pm Friday and Saturday and 3:00pm on
Sunday, tickets just $15. The cast will also be teaching a variety of circus workshops on Sunday
morning! No experience is necessary!
