Nine year old Michael Ahern is an inspiration to us all. While taking a boat ride to get at ice cream, he traveled by the Travis Mills Foundation retreat in Rome, Maine and this young entrepreneur got an idea about how nice it would be to provide ice cream for all the children of veterans staying at the retreat. So, last year he raised the money to do just that. Next, this young man decided it would be nice to help send eight veterans’ families to the retreat and began raising the money. You can help Scoops for Troops by attending the Hire-A-Vet Career Fair on August 29 at the Augusta Civic Center. Starting at 11 AM you can buy an ice cream from Michael through the Darling’s Auto Group Ice Cream Van and help him achieve his goal.
